Colon cancer is one of the top 10 killing diseases in the modern world recorded by different health organizations worldwide, with nearly 100,000 people affected annually. Reports from the National Cancer Institute in the United States revealed that colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer among Americans.

Facts and statistical information gathered of colon cancer, however varies from different countries due to varying health history of each patient. Some cases attributed to family history and some for unhealthy lifestyle.

US Statistics of Colon Cancer

Stage 1 colon cancer in the US statistics has the highest surviving rate of 93%, according to the study published by the National Cancer Institute, followed by stage 3A with 85%, however decreases in patients diagnosed with stage 2 cancer. Research study explained that this is due to the fact that patients with stage 2 colon cancer did not undergo chemotherapy session compared to stage 3 cancer patients.

Colorectal is the second cancer-killing disease in the U.S affecting both men and women, claiming lives each year than breast and prostate cancers. This type of cancer, however is preventable, it only takes self-discipline and healthy lifestyle to escape death caused by this disease.

Statistics of Colon Cancer in Australia

Colon cancer case in Australia is not far from the US Statistics, stage and diagnosis contributed significantly to the rates of survival of each patient. However, it differs to the US data, in Australia stage 1 colon cancer has 90% of survival, stage 2 with 87% while stage 3 is 57%, according to the study published by ANZ Journal of surgery.

Statistics from Europe and Japan

In Europe survival rate lessen by 43%, cancer that occurs closest to the small intestine was reported with almost 50% of survival. However, in Asia, particularly in Japan, colon cancer dramatically has the highest survival rate accounting to 93% for stage 1, 90% for stage 2 and 73% for stage 3. This variation is partly attributed to Asian’s sense of lifestyle where their diets are mainly composed of herbs, vegetables and fruits.

These world statistics for colon cancer showed a significant urgency to adopt an alternative practice of natural medicine which can alleviate cancer-causing bacteria in the future. The colon or large intestine is the most toxic-prone organ in the body which should be given extra attention and keep it healthy all the time. Waste build-up can progress to colon when failed to be eliminated.

Health conscious individuals turn to the aid of supplements designed for cleansing and detoxification to avoid further complication in the system. Colon cleansing is now being popularly practice; its effectiveness in detoxifying colon and other important organs in the body is already widespread that health professionals strongly recommended the intake of cleansing supplements.

The figures are alarming… to prevent this disease increase water intake; physical activity and fibre content in the diet… This can be achieved by eating a lot of fruits and vegetables..
